Andrea Varani first picked up a camera in the early 80s and thanks to a book he happened to find, discovered his talent almost by chance.
His father had a huge impact on this choice, and thus it was that Andrea, Florentine by birth, handsome and seductive, unconventional and irreverent, envisaged his future.
The course of Andrea's career is quite amazing, as rather than succumb to any dominant model, he has always been attracted by the evolutions of fashion, intuiting all its contradictions and creating his very own style.
In Andrea's lens, this game, which is more intense with the female figure and the body, creates the look, the thrill, and the expression of the whole body underneath the clothes.
The fashion he photographs is depicted as desirable but also possible.
The spaces, the sharp and muted lighting make the construction of the image pictorial and refined.
The landscapes and the nature explored by Varani introduce and describe the pleasure of enjoying the photograph as a variation of what is real.
In fact, the fatal attraction of aesthetics persists in order to enhance the continuous changing of reality.

What makes you choose this profession?
I was 20 and someone said I had decided to be a photographer because it would have been more comfortable than going to work.
Actually I had inherited the passion for photography from my father, talented amateur photographer, and before embarking on another career, I thought of trying to transform a hobby in a job.

Do you have any problem on the way of your profession? How did you solve it?
The problems are many. Digital photography and Social media are among the main ones. The first because it opened the way for photography to too many "improvised", the second because it provides the latter with a "showcase" that they do not deserve.
Unfortunately these are not solvable problems. Personally I look forward and focus on keeping my level high photography, even if for Social media this is not needed.

Who are the people impact most in your profession? What do you learn from them?
My family, especially my son. He too is a "creative" who is looking for his way. The desire not to disappoint him is the greatest stimulus for my commitment and the best teaching for him.

In modern society, lots of people want to be famous, influential. How do you think about it?
Doing this job and achieving results sometimes makes you feel "important". My advice is instead to keep your feet on the ground and always keep a good one dose of humility.
The others decide if you deserve fame and influence and if you know your limits you can avoid make so many mistakes.

To become famous, what kind of qualities do you think the person should have?
I repeat: humility, and I would add tenacity and perseverance. However, I don't think it's important to become famous, in fact it's a big responsibility. Sometimes I would like to be a little less!
