We met with Iuliia Bazhan, Miss New York 2025 and internationally published model to explore the details that define her femininity, artistry and presence.

In photographs you look like a goddess. And in real life?

In real life I truly in love with what I do. I adore photoshoots, I adore fashion, I adore that moment when the camera turns on and the whole world seems to pause. But more then everything I like a laughter when things go off script.

Those unexpected conversations when someone says, “It feels peaceful with you.” Life offers so many reasons to be happy and I try to catch every one.

You’re often called a luminary. What does that mean to you?

It’s like entering a room where nothing is happening and yet suddenly you feel safe. As if you don’t have to be strong. As if you can simply breathe. I just genuinely love seeing people as they are. And I think people feel that.

I’m often told that things go quiet inside when I’m around. I don’t rush. I don’t pressure. I’m like a pause between thoughts. Men often say they find it easier to breathe next to me. That they don’t need to be anyone, don’t need to win. They can just be. To me, that’s the greatest compliment.

You’re a successful model with dozens of publications and beauty titles. And yet you paint. How do these two worlds coexist?

My modeling career it’s my main path my energy. The strongest emotions come to me on the runway is walking under the lights, hearing the music, feeling the gaze of the audience. Or when I see a magic pinprint, give interviews, or watch a new shoot go live and I know: this is my trace in the history of fashion. I hold title Miss New York and Top 100 Sexiest Women — and I’ve walked the runways of Paris, Milan, London, Dubai, New York , Miami and beyond… It’s a vast and beautiful part of my life.

But every strong woman has a quiet corner in her heart meant only for herself. For me it’s painting. I come from an aristocratic family where women have always been graceful and artistic. My grandmother, my mother, my aunts, my sisters — all paint. Some with oil, others with pastel, some just with sketches. For me, painting is a ritual.

Is there a secret you want to keep forever?

My future. I don’t want to know it in advance. Because I love being surprised. I love spontaneity. I’m endlessly curious. The journey matters to me just as much as the destination. So let the script write itself — moment by moment.
