Tell us something about you. Maybe your life, profession, habit, dream.

My name is Lenny Wheeler, I am a fashion, editorial and beauty photographer. I also specialize in the development and coaching of male and female models. I reside in Dallas, TX and love to travel aside from my full time career.

What makes you choose this profession?

I have always enjoy the arts and things that are out of the ordinary. Making visions come to life is something that makes my heart explode. I believe I get a lot out of the creative process. There is a high that I don’t think any one would understand other than another artist. Actually stepped into the fashion game when I owned a clothing boutique and didn’t have anyone to take pictures of the clothing. I guess you can say after I started taking pictures of the clothes with a Canon Point and shoot the rest was history.

What are the most difficulties during your shoots?

Probably one of the most difficulties that I have during is a shoot is probably staying on the path of what or how we originally planned to shoot. I may start off with a theme and then it evolves to something with a slightly different twist. Usually it comes out so much better. I think that is why it is nice to have other creatives on set. Sometimes it is actually cool to stretch another artist out of there comfort zone and make them think outside the box and beyond there limits from time.

In modern society, lots of people want to be famous, influential.

How do you think about it? Some people want to be influential and famous because of the money. If. You are in it for the money then that’s fine, however I believe. You have to have a passion in helping others and seeing things in this whole process come to fruition. I believe passion shows and when you have that the fame and suchss come right behind that. There is saying that goes, “if you enjoy what you do, you will never have to work another day”.

What will be the suggestions to new photographers?

One thing that I can tell new photographers is that they need to enjoy the process of developing. Being the best that you can be is a process and that process can take years. Don’t be so unsure of what you are doing just go fo it. Not only do they need to break the rules, but they need to break them often. Also don’t be so concerned about your gear. Use what you have and learn to be good with the gear you have. Just have a camera a good subject. One thing that I learned is learn the light around you and learn how to manipulate it.
