At the age of 10 years Gil Zetbase receives a gift from Santa Claus: it was his first camera Olympus Trip 35, where all family portraits, monuments, travels and other things were captured. At the age of 16 years Gil Zetbase himself stands on the other side of the lens, he is working as a model in the agency "Glamur" in Paris with the most famous photographers of that time. Gil Zetbase is interested in photography, and he begins to be seriously engaged in what he do best – the portrait. 

He wants to learn everything: light, make-up ... and for this he takes up the brush under the guidance of his teacher Michel Deruelle. At the age of 20 years, Gil Zetbase goes to London to work for the magazine Vogue, where he works as a makeup artist at the fashion house of Christian Dior. But gloomy London quickly bothers him, and he returns to the Cote d'Azur, where, unfortunately, it does not have a permanent job. 

He finds some jobs as an assistant photographer and travels to Milan as a model. Here he buys a camera Nikon FE2, and he is engaged in photography as a hobby. At the age of 30 years Gil Zetbase becomes the owner of the company, dealing with new technologies and his eyes focused on the development of his business abroad. 

At the age of 40 years, he decides to move to Minsk, where he meets Jean-Baptiste Fort, a young and talented photographer. Their common passion grows into creating a joint business. They start to work with advertising agencies in Russia and other CIS countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine), as well as with several international companies. 

Gil’s Zetbase marriage on the famous model and blogger Angela Donava inspires him again to engage in a photography. At the age of 50 years after his return to France, to the Cote d'Azur, Gil Zetbase decides to remember his passion and turns his dream of becoming a fashion photographer in reality. Together with his wife, Angela, they decide to open their first photographic studio on the Boulevard de La Croisette in Cannes.

What made you choose this profession?

I chose the profession of photographer by the desire to highlight beauty and capture the present moment to be able to engrave it in history

Are art and fashion important in your life? Why?

Art and fashion tell a story and by photographing this story I copy it as an image.

If you have a superpower or talent, which one do you want? Why?

Know what tomorrow will be, to be there in the right place.

In modern society, many people want to be famous, influential. What do you think?

To be famous is to please or to displease. I think being famous is for me doing good things

To become famous, what kind of qualities do you think the person should have?

To not think about being famous and the highest quality of famous people

What is your favorite camera? Why?

Hasselblad H 5 C, because I use it and its definition is just incredible.

Where does your inspiration come from?

Suddenly or never

What are the most important difficulties during your filming?

Power running out of time

How often do you create new works?

If it's for work the frequency is important if it's for me impossible to answer

What is the most important thing in creating a new work?

The idea, the inspiration and the budget

Do you have this feeling? When you look at the work you created 1 or 2 years ago, you always think it's fashionable.

Yes it will always be in fashion, fashion is a perpetual renewal

Are you still going to create new works when you are old?

Yes because these are the hardest first 80 years to become an artist.
