Alina Anwar: An International Trendsetter

Alina Anwar, the first and only internationally recognised youngest fashion designer from Pakistan, has been getting attention in the global fashion industry since she established her own fashion label, Alina Anwar Couture in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2018. Her success story is a perfect example of women empowerment, passion, creativity and a continuous pursuit of excellence that has put her on the worldwide map among the most iconic figures, from Mariah Carey to Toni Braxton. But this is just the beginning for this young designer.

Anwar was fascinated at a young age by watching her mother and grandmother dressing up for special occasions, and their style and elegance became an inspiration for her to look up to and begin her own journey into the world of luxury couture. In just a short span of time, she turned her passion into a successful career that has become synonymous with luxury, sophistication and women's empowerment. Her designs, from elegant evening dresses to ravishing midi dresses, are known for their outstanding craftsmanship and finest fabrics imported from Paris and Milan.

Alina Anwar's brand focuses on empowering women through powerful dressing. Her designs are not just elegant outfits but they are a form of self-expression and self-confidence. Anwar believes that an outfit should enhance the features off the wearer, but never outshine. “My aim is to empower women through dressing and to set them on a path to personal freedom and endless possibilities” she explains.

Anwar's brand quickly gained recognition amongst the stylists and celebrities around the world. A career changing moment was when the legend Mariah Carey chose one of her dresses for her iconic music video "All I Want for Christmas Is You" in 2019. This immediately catapulted Anwar onto the world stage, and since then she has dressed many famous figures, including Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and actresses such as Jenna Dewan and Kareena Kapoor. But perhaps Anwar's most important achievement to date has been designing personalised outfits for Beyoncé for her exclusive appearance in Dubai. Creating pieces for one of the world's most influential artists was a pivotal moment in Anwar's career. She recently presented her latest collection in a private showroom in Paris during Paris Fashion Week in September 2024.

Despite her splendid list of achievements, Alina Anwar remains focused on the future. She believes her greatest achievement is yet to come. Anwar’s dreams of opening her first Alina Anwar Couture boutique in Dubai, a city she considers her second home and the centre of the world's elite. With an already established presence in Dubai, expanding its physical presence seems a natural step. Moreover, she aims to be stocked in prestigious departmental stores globally. She has her eye on dressing Zendaya, one of the most stylish and influential actresses in Hollywood, in one of her creations.
